Ballard Yacht Rigging is a family business originally started in the mid 90’s by my father, me and my brothers. Boating is still a big part of our family and I have been working in boatyards and marine services around Seattle since that early start. I restarted the business in 2017 with a broader focus.
In addition to rigging, I am an ABYC certified electrician and experienced with all aspects of pleasure boats from bilge pumps to electronics to hydraulic engine controls. Have a mystery problem? I can probably solve it! I hope you will give me a chance to provide you with the services you need, to get the most out of your boat.

I'm happy to help you out with all aspects of your sailing vessel from the smallest daysailer to 70’ ocean going yachts. I can take care of your boat so you can spend time sailing rather than waiting for repairs.
Tim Huse has been the rigger on my 38 ft boat since 2017. He has helped me out with electronics, standing rigging, a deck organizer and installing a fiberglass dodger. Tim has a lot of experience and skills with boat repair, including brilliant practical solutions to difficult problems that I appreciate. He knows when to apply manual strength or power tools, and when to finesse something with care. He has provided options for executing work from how he would do it on his own boat inexpensively, to how he would do it to the highest customer standards. He has been responsive to my requests for his time, managing his time efficiently to intersperse work on two boats at the marina on the same day. I don’t pay Tim to socialize, but we take time to talk through jobs so we are both on the same page, the right work is done the right way, and it is executed efficiently.

Tim Huse and Ballard Yacht Rigging know boats. I have a vintage Ericson sloop and I am eager to update the boat over time and hopefully learn a bit along the way. Tim gets down to business, he has a way he believes things should be done and I am convinced that he is bringing new life into my boat. Attention to detail, not afraid of hard work, with a well thought out plan are hallmark to the way Tim manages your project. You can count on Tim.

How does a new sailor and boat owner succeed not to mention stay on budget? You have Tim Huse on your team! Tim has been an enormous asset in keeping my boat shipshape and Bristol. He advises on all manner of maintenance and upgrades which helps me to make the right choices. I'm very pleased with the quality of Tim's work. You're made to feel like your boat is a priority in his schedule. I highly recommend Ballard Yacht Rigging.

During a recent haulout that required pulling the mast, I commissioned Tim of Ballard Yacht Rigging to overhaul the standing and running rigging. I also deferred to his experience in other aspects of equipment change out including nav system and instrument selection. I found Tim to be conscientious in handing all tasks properly and to not take shortcuts where quality and safety were at stake. I highly recommend Ballard Yacht Rigging and I look forward to working with Tim on additional upgrades to my Cabo Rico 38.
